ゲストAnyone else find themselves taking the longer highway route just to avoid the stop start city grid these days?
I’ve actually started changing my commute home from Deira out toward the Greens area and I know it adds like fifteen extra kilometers to my trip but I’m genuinely finding myself looping up onto the E311 just so I can sit at a steady speed for a while instead of crawling through all the intersections and speed tables that seem to be multiplying every time they repave a side street around here, and maybe I’m just being a bit precious about the car but it honestly feels like it rides so much better when it’s not constantly rocking back and forth from all the braking and accelerating in traffic. My wife thinks I’m nuts and it’s just an excuse to waste more petrol but I swear the front end just doesn’t clunk as much when I take the long way around and avoid those harsh little jolts you get from the raised zebra crossings in the older neighborhoods. I stumbled across a piece at uaebalancecheck.com/daily-city-driving-dubai-suspension-wear that kind of validated my paranoia because it talks about how the constant weight transfer in low speed city traffic is actually rougher on the bushings and mounts than just clocking up motorway miles where everything’s more settled and consistent. At this point I’m just curious if I’m the only one out here actively avoiding certain routes purely for the sake of the suspension’s remaining lifespan or if there’s a quiet club of us babying our cars through another August.
